LaShawn D. McCoy is an accomplished executive with over 17 years’ experience in business operations and reform most notably in strategic planning and project/program management. As the current Chief Strategy and Programs Officer at Fifth Ward Community Redevelopment Corporation, she assists in helping to formulate, facilitate and communicate the organization's strategic initiatives and future goals through programmatic management and economic development. Since working with the organization she has worked closely with leadership to develop the organization's long-term and short-term strategic goals and initiatives; planning business processes to ensure business continuity and preparation for future growth.

Prior to taking on this role she was the Regional Executive Director of Operations at Southwest Key Program, a federal Non-Profit organization and other organizations gaining experience in all levels of business operations management, planning and reform. LaShawn also dedicates her time as an instructor at University of Houston –Downtown, Texas Southern University and other local colleges as an Advanced Business Communications instructor providing valuable information to undergraduate students assisting them in focused preparation for their careers in business. LaShawn has a certification from Columbia Business School Executive Management Program in Building and Leading Effective Teams and recently became a member of the Project Management Institute. She possesses a Master of Business Administration Degree and Bachelors of Arts degree in Communications.
